To filter the nitrogen from the air, a so-called carbon molecular sieve is used here.

This is a prepared carbon skeleton which absorbs the oxygen molecules from a certain pressure of the air (adsorption). In the subsequent desorption – after saturation of the filter material, the pressure is suddenly released – in this case, the oxygen molecules are entrained and removed from the molecular sieve.
